About the Founder
Kimberly began her philanthropic work at an early age where she initially invested her free time volunteering with local charities. Through her community involvement Kimberly began working independently with special needs children, where she identified the needs of each child, and implemented development programs in a tailored and targeted way. Kimberly’s compassion for children and the success of her program planning led her to pursue a career as a pre-school teacher. She felt that to be the first to shape a child’s mind at the very early stages of their cognitive development is the most critical and the most rewarding. As a pre-school teacher Kimberly was exposed to many of the broader challenges that confront low-income families. Kimberly began to see that many of the children most adversely affected were in single mother families. In particular, single mother families where the mother has been left by her spouse without support or assistance of any kind.
As a child who's family has experienced life in poverty, Kimberly felt compelled to giveback to her community which led her to found Change Up.
Her belief : “I can’t change the world, but I can make a difference.” As founder of Change Up, Kimberly is committed to having a positive influence on the lives of women and their children.
